Question: Why should we give you free stuff?
Posted by misterkrypton on May 4, 2009
Alright, now for a little something different.
I want to give away some free Krypton stuff, but don’t really have a good reason to. So here’s the deal:
Tell me why I should give you some free iPhone Screen Protectors, and if I like what you have to say, I’ll send you one…if not, tough luck Jack!
Here’s what I’m looking for:
1) Interesting stories about how you (or a friend) scratched your screen and how you (or your friend) were devastated about it (I will consider fictitious stories as well…as long as they’re creative)
2) Suggestions about what accessories you want for you iPhone in the future and a 5 point plan for super happy iPhone usage
3) Your stories about how you simply NEED one of these products to survive (we DO accept begging, pleading, and bribes…as long as it’s creative…and nothing sexually explicit please, let’s keep this PG)
Here’s your choice of fabulous prizes should I, in my infinite generosity, graciously choose to send you something.
Screen Armor Privacy 180 (Same as the 360, but does not include top to bottom privacy, only side to side)
I would write descriptions for all of these, but I was lazy and chose to link to our site instead.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
All you have to do is comment! I’m looking forward to this, don’t let me down people!

Alright I’m gonna give this a shot, I hope you choose to send me something ^_^
As far as why I need it, I haven’t had too many screen scratch issues but privacy has defintely been my problem. I’m 20 years old, and a college student so when I’m at school, I’m in a lot of situations where I get prying eyes zooming to my screen. If I’m in an elevator, there’s always at least one freak looking down, or in class, they think I don’t see them, but in the corner of my eye I catch them being not so stealth. I need more privacy! It’s gone as far as some guy watching me log in to bank of America, and then saying OH I LOVE BANK OF AMERICA like a doofus! Luckily I turned before I entered my passkey :X it’s also made using my beloved twitter pretty hard because it’s hard to be as expressive as I am on there, when people I don’t know are reading as I tweet. For example if I wanted to be like “this fool next to me is wearing a hideous jacket and smells like an old sandwich” I really wouldn’t have the freedom to do so, and I think that’s so lame!
Accessories I would love in the future:
-skins with maybe fun/interesting textures/colors that don’t look generic/aftermarket. And are also a little reasonable in price. 30 dollars for a case? I’m a college student! I want my iPhone to be hip, not make me broke -_- unfortunately 24-30 dollars is a trend in iPhone case pricing ;(
My 5 point happy usage plan
1. Better service – this will change eventually, I’d say a 2012 arrival or at least announcement of newer/faster service/reception/file transfers
2. Different colors – though a shallow point, it makes a difference, I’d love a red, or midnight blue iPhone
3. FREE TETHERING
4. A messaging service exclusive to iPhones, a la blackberry messenger
5. A way to select a mass amount of emails and mark them as unread
–not much else honestly, I’m very happy..this is a better question after the 3.0 OS update lands,
So far, a lot of my complaints will be covered by it. Haha
Why do I need this product?!
I’d love to regain some privacy, from noisy passerbys and prying family. I’ve actually had an incident where a huge family secret was read from my phone while I was testing and a family member, unbeknownst to me, was reading the whole time! One of my cousins actually hasn’t talked to me in months! It’s there fault their so nosy, but I’d rather avoid such situations all together!
Thanks so much for reading. I really hope you pick me.

Why do I want a screen/privacy protector for my phone.
As I look at my iphone, there are no scratches on the screen. (knock on wood). I just removed my anti glare screen protector a couple of hours ago and just started looking for new one. There are many choices out there to choose from. I came across KRYPTON on the net. What really caught my eye, was the Privacy 360. Finally! A screen protector that not only protects from dings and scratches, but protects info from prying eyes! Just the thought of being on an airplane scrolling thru photos, reading emails, text or watching videos without having to turn your phone away from who is sitting next to you. Or better yet, being stuck in the middle seat with nowhere to turn and my my screen being private to my eyes! And to be fishing on a boat and have my phone drop out of my shirt pocket and land screen first, dropping on the anchor and not leave a nasty scratch like it did to my buddy’s iphone w/o a screen protector. Plus the fact that it is reusable and washable!
Iphone accessories I wish for:
-An FM transmitter that doesn’t play songs with static.
-A quality screen protector that not only protects my screen, but also info displayed on my screen.
-Steering wheel Iphone holder
My 5 point happy usage plan for super happy Iphone usage:
1) MMS! Iphone users have been waiting and waiting for MMS.
2) As mentioned above, FREE TETHERING is a plus!
3) Free voice naviagation
4) A flash player
5) The capability to play Windows Media videos.
Why do I need a Kyrpton product? I want a product that will last and do what it is says it will do. Being able to remove, clean and reuse again is a plus. I had some naughty pics of the girl I was dating on my phone. I was showing pics to my friend’s mom of my niece and nephew back home. As I was scrolling thru them, I came across a naughty pic that I thought I had deleted. She saw it. Not good. Now when I see her (which is rare) she says jokingly, “Hey Ryan, got any new pics on your phone?” Complete embarrasement I tell ya!

I’ve probably missed the boat on this, but man am I going to take a shot at it.
So I save up to go git me a brand new iPhone… the day rolls around and I’m, well, giddy as a school girl. I make a mad dash for my apartment and load playlist after playlist (each of which had been waiting in iTunes anticipatorily for months..). I hop in the car and go for a joyride. Blare music.. pause for phonecall… blare music; rock out with you know what you know where.
I arrive at my destination and pick up my shiny new iPhone and place it carefully in my pocket. I leave exit the car and push the door shut. The door is pretty heavy so I rarely have to use much force; it sort of shuts itself with the right amount of momentum. Door bounces back. Huh. Well, duh, push harder! Door bounces back. Huh. Well, duh, slam the thing! Just as the door leaves my hand.. gasp. Too late. iPhone was still attached to auxiliary input which very gently tugged it back out of my pocket and nestled it in my car door frame. Awesome.
Good news: no spiderwebs, no cracks, no nothing! Wow, go iPhone!
Bad news: lots and lots of scratches. Front and back. Sad, sad, sad.
Good news: went back to Apple store same day, gave sob story to geek who takes pity on my and replaces phone. Holler!
Bad news: doesn’t solve the fact that I have really nosy friends who like to peak at my texts and emails (hint, hint).
I got a case for my phone, so one problem’s been solved. But it’s open face, so while I’ve been really careful in the meantime, I need to find some sort of screen protection. From what I’ve read, Krypton is the best!! Not only in protection, but in privacy! Exactly what I’m looking for. Three-Hundred-and-Sixty-Degree protection. Nothing but the best! That’s how I roll. Am I dropping enough hints? ‘Cause if you’re not picking up what I’m laying down I’m totally not opposed to begging.
…PLEEEEEEASE PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE!!
That is all.

Wow Tony,
What a story! I can’t believe the people at Apple replaced your phone. That’s incredible. Good customer service goes a long way, I’m impressed.
I also appreciate the subtle tone in how you nudge me toward which screen protector you’d like. Though, you were so timid in asking that I’m not quite sure which Screen Armor to get you. Perhaps you can clarify?….just kidding.
Alright, I’ll send you a Privacy 360, but on one condition – Once you put it on your phone, you have to let me know what kind of case you have (brand and model). We’ve had a few customer complaints (though not many) about our Screen Armor products not being compatible with certain company’s cases. I’ve tested as many as I can, but there’s so many brands of cases out there it’s impossible to test them all.
Is it a deal?
If so, just send your address to:
Robert@kryptonproducts.com
and I’ll take care of it from there.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Mr. Krypton

So I walk into the capitol building and walk up to the podium to give my first state of the union address. The rotunda is packed, and with all of the TV cameras I realize the eyes and ears of the nation is waiting for what I have to say. “My fellow Americans,” I begin. “Today I am here to tell you about the new iPhone I got today. It’s not the phone, itself, that I need to talk to you about… everyone has one of these. But not everyone has the protection I am about to show you. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you the intelligent accessory for a green planet, the Krypton Screen Armor Ultra Clear screen protector. These screen guards allow my administration to operate with full transparency, and at the same time they are engineered to protect your iPhone screen from the rest of the world. My fellow Americans, with the help of Krypton Products, the state of the union continues to be strong and safe with a clear vision for the days ahead.” The capitol rotunda erupts with deafening cheers from both sides of the aisle. Just then I wake up and realize that I was having a dream, and none of that really happened. But then I looked over at the Krypton screen armour on my phone and thought, “Isn’t this the stuff dreams are made of?”

Haha, a fine story indeed. It’s so weird because I’ve had that same reoccurring dream since High School. Perhaps great minds think (or dream?) alike…
As for sending you something for free, I have to say I need to hear a little more…What product particularly interests you? Why? Are there any other accessories that you have for your iPhone that you love? Any you’ve had in the past that you dislike? Any accessories you’d like to see that aren’t already out there? Do you follow any Apple companies on Twitter? Do you ready blog reviews of products before you buy them? What’s the best iPhone accessory company in your mind…yadda yadda yadda.
Naturally, you don’t have to give a dissertation on the matter (or even answer every question above), just looking for a bit more info. We really want to learn more about our customers so we can develop more awesome stuff. After all, awesome stuff is, by definition, awesome.
Thanks for joining in on the conversation!
All the best,
Mr. K

I’m pretty good at searching the web for reviews of products and enjoy watching reviewers on YouTube. It was actually on YouTube where I found out about Krypton Products. I’m a little dense still trying to figure out how Twitter works. Once upon a time I was pretty hip, but now I’m an aging hotdog street vendor. I setup the Tweet account but can’t yet get my head around it. One of these days it will click. I love my iPhone and have had it for almost a year now. I know there are other capable smart-phones out there, but I think Apple nailed it with the iPhone.
My favorite accessory is a pair of bluetooth stereo headphones from RocketFish paired with my iPhone. I use them to listen to music and podcasts while I’m working. The best part is the ear pads fit comfortably over my ears because I get ear fatigue with the ones that fit inside the ear. My favorite iPhone case is probably a tie between the Speck Candyshell and the Rebel Scholar slider case. From what I’m hearing, That may change once I get my hands on a SwitchEasy Rebel or Torrent.
The Krypton product that interests me right now is the Screen Armor Ultra-Clear. I had originally used a competitor’s screen protector but it had a weird mottled surface that interfered with the clarity of the screen. So I took it off, and now my fingerprints are haunting me. Someday someone will invent a screen protector that ensures image clarity and also repels fingerprints at the same time. That will be awesome!

That’s more like it! Pretty interesting. I’ll have to check out some of those cases you mentioned, analyze them, and figure out ways to make them better.
Well sir, I’m pleased to say you’ve passed the test. Shoot me an email with your address and I’ll send a goodie out to you next week : )
Best,
